Message	or bending of the crankshaft? In which case lowering the mass will increase the resonant frequency, which is good. However, since the pulley is at the end of the crankshaft, the effect of reducing its mass is somewhat more complicated... I am thinking that it will affect how well fixed the ends of the crankshaft will be... in that case lowering the mass will increase the wavelength of the bending modes, and therefore reduce the frequency, which is bad...
